Introduction to Street Photography











During this workshop you will be introduced to the basics of street photography by exploring tips and techniques from famous street photographers . With fun exercises you will be guided step by step in how to develop a mindful and creative way of seeing and capturing life in the streets through your lens.


Suitable for people of all levels of experience who still have not tried their eye on street photography.





At the end of the workshop you will be able to:


- demonstrate a critical understanding of the basic concepts and techniques of Street



- demonstrate a practical engagement with Street Photography by taking your own 

   photographs and applying in practice what you learnt in theory


- discuss the works of some famous street photographers


- critically reflect on your own making of images and identify problems and difficulties




General Workshop Outline of a 4-hours Workshop


11:00 - 12:00 am 


Theory session - explaining the workshop themes (see left side of this page)

By using simple words and illustrations through the works of famous street        photographers this session will provide you with the basic info on the techniques you need   to start playing creatively in the streets with your cameras.


12:00 am Tea & Biscuits Break


12:10 am - 1:00 pm 

Looking at and discussing famous photographers' works identifying elements from the theory discussed earlier.


1:00 pm Lunch Break


1:30 - 2:30 pm

Play Time - theory into practice

You will be taking photographs outside of the workshop venue implementing what you learnt.  You can work on specific themes and fun tasks I will be giving you or you can choose to shoot freely. I will be guiding you when needed and giving you practical tips on how to achieve your desired results by controlling your camera on manual mode.

We will be following a specific route to keep us focused and in close proximity or you can work on your own if you prefer following your own.


2:30 - 3:50 pm

Tea & Biscuits  while discussing the photos taken

Looking at each otherís photographs, commenting on them, discussing and resolving problems and difficulties encountered during the practical session.


3:50 - 4:00 pm

Summing up  on the main workshop ideas, leaving your feedbacks, suggesting ideas for further workshops based on your needs.
